Basescu held an extremely dull and uninteresting monologue interesting speech USA style on the police force that went on strike at Cotroceni palace. Putting in his own personal views and anger the government views and discontent on the situation. Of course, dressed in an expensive fancy suit displaying the poor financial state the country is in. And with all the wisdom and authority you can expect from a former oil tanker captain Leader of State, he addressed the country very few viewers that took their time to watch the one man show.

The message was clear, you cannot go on strike if you have no permission! And you most definitely cannot address Basescu in a bad manner to show your discontent about cutting wages. Let it be clear: without permission you cannot call the man in charge bad names! WTF, are we back in Communistic times again? Do as your leader tells you or else……

As a reaction towards the police ones responsible he came with a fitting punishment solution: He himself does not want to be escorted anymore by the police from the Ministry of Internal Affairs. This was followed by marionette his loyal follower Boc immediately. Take that you Police!

Of course Basescu has a point, just as usual the wrong one. If everyone would go on strike whenever it pleases them then nobody would work anymore (France and Greece anyone?). And if we all stop working, than there are no taxes to pay. And taxes help us funding infrastructure as good roads, good water systems, always working electricity, wonderful healthcare and top salaries for unqualified people (Udrea and friends) in the government. But the Romanian police works very, very hard and with full force. In response to the salary cutbacks of 25%, they threaten to work 25% less. That of course means when they have a salary increase they will work the equivalent of that time more?

Mister Basescu, going on strike is the right of every worker in any branch in a democratic world. And you joined that world when you so happily ran into the arms of the EU. I can give Basescu a tip on how the police can easily generate more income for the state (therefore securing their own income) and as a bonus make for example the city of Bucharest cleaner and more accessible: by fining all cars that are parked in areas that are forbidden to park. Now that would solve three problems at once! Oh wait…that requires actual labor. And if you are police, owning a gun and a whistle, fining cars is so uncool!
